Previously this area featured an uncovered timber pergola which, and although maintained and painted regularly had deteriorated to the extent that some of the structure was in danger of collapsing. The clients’ brief was to retain the same architectural style but also to provide an all-weather outdoor area for use in summer or winter whilst giving protection to the extensive timber work on the rear of the home.

Replacing an Uncovered Timber Pergola

This was accomplished by retaining the appearance using powder coated aluminium frame and columns to match the existing colours and installing a Classic Eclipse Opening Roof over the area. To complete the area the client requested subtle lighting fixtures to create a feeling of intimacy. The LED downlights were incorporated into the framework.
