This was a large deck area leading out from a one room unit within walking distance from the centre of the city and the Darling Harbour precinct. The Pyrmont awning provides a breakout area that is flexible enough to provide all weather protection in summer and winter while complementing the building. As the client did not have existing plans and the are was relatively exposed to winds investigation had to be undertaken to ensure the attachment was structurally sound.

It also needed to cover and protect an outdoor aquarium that ran along the wall of the dwelling. The challenge was also to attach the structure to take into effect the different levels of the points of attachment.
