The finished result is a functional and stylish Mittagong pergola that creates an ideal entertainment area that the owners love.
The owner of a water front boat villa was looking for an opening roof that could also be used as a vertical privacy and security screen. Opening Roof Specialists designed, engineered and installed perhaps Australia’s first motor operable dual-purpose Eclipse Opening Roof and Security Screen System. Or, to put it simply – there is no other folding awning like this in Australia!
This client had limited space and wished to design a Mosman pergola that was subtle and harmonius with its surroundings. The classic combination of glossy white against the green backdrop of the gardens achieved just that. An instant feeling of relaxation is experienced when entering this outdoor space.
To construct an outdoor entertaining area that blended with the angled exterior corner as well as catered for the different eaves height. The owners wanted a simple level frame set above the existing paved area. They also wanted some form of lighting incorporated into the project.
The company was approached by a builder whose brief was to add an opening roof area to an already extensive outdoor entertaining area. The existing alfresco roof had a flat paneled finish to the ceiling and the client was instructed by the owner to match the effect as closely as possible. It also needed to cover and protect an outdoor aquarium that ran along the wall of the dwelling. The challenge was also to attach the structure to take into effect the different levels of the points of attachment.
Previously this Willoughby pergola was an uncovered timber structure. Although it was maintained and painted regularly, it had deteriorated to the extent that the original Willoughby pergola was in danger of collapsing! The client’s brief was to retain the same architectural style but also to provide an all-weather outdoor area for use in summer or winter whilst giving protection to the extensive timber work on the rear of the home. The addition of modern motorised roof louvres achieved exactly what the client was after.
The client had recently moved into this new home and the need for an outdoor multipurpose area soon became apparent. For brief for this Camden pergola design required both versatility and economy. The client suggested a combination of opening roof that was complemented with an all-weather covered area. Again, the requirement was to architecturally complement the existing dwelling whilst maximising the usability of the outdoor area whilst providing natural light to the adjacent kitchen. The client also wanted discrete lighting to be incorporated into this Camden pergola design.
The owners had a large area they wished to use as a break out area when relaxing or entertaining, so we created this West Pennant Hills pergola that sits proudly looking over the property. The simple addition of flush-mounted LED down lights gave a special finishing touch to this practical space.
