The site is on the waterfront on Sydney Harbour and the owners wanted to extend their entertaining area. They also stipulated the structure had to blend with the existing architecture.

Previously this area featured an uncovered timber pergola which, and although maintained and painted regularly had deteriorated to the extent that some of the structure was in danger of collapsing. The clients’ brief was to retain the same architectural style but also to provide an all-weather outdoor area for use in summer or winter whilst giving protection to the extensive timber work on the rear of the home.
